Being connected to life. Returning home to yourself. Serving others. You were made for this awakening. Get grounded!

I was not raised in a culture that honored the Earth, nor was I taught that the Divine resides in plants, animals, the sky, and within myself. It took my spiritual journey to realize that connecting with nature and the Earth is essential for accessing the wholeness of myself and the universe.

Once I began my spiritual journey, “getting grounded” became necessary. My spiritual mentor taught me how to communicate with nature, and with my feet connected to the rhythms of the Earth, I started to feel a sense of home in new ways.

In our fast-paced, data-driven lives, we often forget the importance of returning to the present moment. You can relax into your feet, plant your awareness in the Earth, take a conscious breath, and become aware of every sensation in your body.

Our bodies share a vibrational relationship with the Earth. If someone asked you to “get grounded” right now, how quickly could you still your mind and focus on your present breath?

We can all return to our grounded selves—and we must. Grounding helps us access higher levels of energy and connect with life, allowing us to return home to ourselves.

How to Ground:

  1. Begin in a standing or seated position and feel where your body touches the Earth.

  2. Use your senses to connect with the ground beneath you. Imagine roots growing from the base of your spine into the center of the Earth.

  3. Pay attention to this connection, allowing it to expand and strengthen, bringing you a sense of solidity.

  4. Feel the energy of the Earth rising through your feet, up your legs, and into your hips, before grounding at the base of your spine.

While this process is easiest when standing or sitting still, with practice, you’ll be able to connect while walking. You’ll experience a profound sense of being held by the Earth, grounded in a way that feels nurturing and alive.

Happy Grounding!
